The opportunity was to convert a derelict rear part of the east wing of an Oxfordshire country house.

The main design challenge was to provide the new living unit with a coherent focal point. This was achieved by orientating it around a courtyard, on two sides of which were build a new contemporary lean to, housing the main entry, dining, bedroom, and study areas.
